B CORP: BUSINESS AS A FORCE FOR GOOD

B CORP: BUSINESS AS A FORCE FOR GOOD

As COVID-19 continues to challenge our economy, infrastructure, routines and the health and financial security of ourselves and our loved ones, we’re reminded that our work towards an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economic system for all has never been more important. This is the inspiring note that B Corps are sharing around the world in this challenging, pandemic time.Being one of them means for us to commit to support our partners and our community and at the same time to spread this message with consumers and businesses around the world.

COMPANIES WHO EMBRACE SUSTAINABILITY AND FUEL RESILIENCE

Business, one of the most powerful forces people have created, can and should be used for good. And everyone, from business leaders to policymakers to employees and consumers — can make changes that change the system.”

B Corporations belong to a global network of over 3,000 companies that are strongly committed to making the world a better place by meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance. This performance is measured by the B Lab based on each company’s impact on employees, customers, suppliers, community and environment. The commitment of a B Corp is not only to reduce their negative impact by following these standards, but also to makethe world and the communities in which they operate better than they found them”.

THE POWER OF INTERDEPENDENCE

Interdependence has never been so obvious, so strong and so necessary.

As the world navigates through the Covid-19 shutdown, B Corps across all industries have not only had to adapt a new way of sustaining business, but also focus special care on communities and people, working for a force of good - even during a crisis. The impact of the shutdown on people, businesses and economies are undeniable, however, we must also look at the opportunity that has risen, giving hope for a reset after Covid. B Corps around the world have stepped up, taking special precautions to protect their employees, ramping up special production of products needed at the front line, and providing extra care to their communities, to mention a few. In response to the outbreak, as Davines Group we have produced over 100,000 hand sanitizers, given the name ‘Good Hope Gel’. Donated to communities and charities who need it most at this time, the Good Hope Gel signifies optimism for the future.

Moments like this remind us of the power people and businesses have when they work together; the power of interdependence. It is how we can have hope that together, we will restart after Covid.
